Dakota Valley entered the State B baseball tournament semi-final game with Dell Rapids feeling optimistic. After all, on April 5 they defeated Dell Rapids 8 to 1.

But it was a new game.

Jake Pruchniak pitched a 2-hitter until he hit his pitch count at 105 at 6 1/3 innings.

The bats from Dakota Valley were silent, with just 1 hit off the Dells starting pitcher, who struck out 14 Panthers in 6 innings.

The only hits for Dakota Valley were by Jaxon Hennies in the first where DV had the bases loaded but did not score and Brayden Major in the top of the 7th.

Brayden Pan Konen was the winning pitcher in relief. In the April 5 game, he was the starter but lasted only 2 1/2 innings.

Dell Rapids won 1-0.
