The Dakota Valley Panthers had a decisive 38-21 win Friday, Oct. 9 over the Orioles in Lennox. It was a team effort, as over 20 players made the scorebook. That number does not include the offensive line that powered DV to 425 yards of total offense.

Tommy Nikkel returned the opening kick to DV’s 38. He finished a 10-play, 62-yard drive with a 9-yard touchdown. Evan Foster’s PAT was good.

Lennox then drove the ball from their 34 to DV’s 13. Christian Merchant, Carter Broers and Alex Reinhardt stopped the Orioles for a 1-yard loss on second down. Kobey June then broke up a pass on third and fourth down.

DV’s possession ended with an intercepted pass. Lennox then marched 80 yards on 14 plays to score and the PAT was good.

On the kickoff, Noah Steele returned the ball to the DV 36. Chayce Montagne ran for 42 yards. On the next play, June ran 22 yards for a touchdown and Foster’s PAT was good again.

Foster then did an onside kick that was recovered and advanced by Noah Steele. Lennox held and Foster kicked a field goal bringing the score 17-7.

To start the second half, Foster had a touchback on the kickoff.

Lennox had 1 first down before punting.

The Panthers scored on their next possession when June fumbled and Randy Rosenquist recovered and took it in. Foster’s PAT was good, giving DV a 24-7 lead.
