Dakota Valley attended the Lennox Booster Qualifier April 22 in Lennox. It might have been an hour away, but high placements in many events made the trip worth while.

The girls team excelled in the hurdles and high jump. Silja Gunderson, Lauren Okine and Madeline Stout took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively in the 100m hurdles. In the 300m hurdles, Stout and Gunderson took 2nd and 3rd.

In the high jump, Jorja VanDenHul took 1st place with a 5’ jump. She was followed by Sophia Atchison in 4th place with a jump of 4’8”.

Rylee Rosenquist jumped 14’9” for a 4th place finish in the long jump, followed by Atchison in 7th with a jump of 14’5.5”. In the triple jump, Ashlynn Stusse and Avry Trotter took 5th and 6th with jumps of 28’7.5” and 27’7.5” respectively.

Rosenquist took 1st place in the shot put with 35’9.5”.

The boys team did well in the dashes, hurdles and the jumps. Tommy Nikkel took 1st place in both the 100m dash and the 400m dash with times of 11.4 and 52.6, respectively. In the 400, Drew Steele took 8th place with 58.1 and Pat Phisitkul took 10th place with 58.8.

In the 110m hurdles, Gunnar Gunderson took 2nd place at 15.7 and 5th place in the 300m hurdles with 44.6. Joey Bryan followed in 6th place in the 300m hurdles at 46.4.

Hunter Beving took 2nd place with a jump of 5’8” followed by Trae Piel in 4th with the same height. Liam Keenan grabbed 9th place with his jump of 5’4”. Beving took 5th place in the long jump with his leap of 19’8.5”. He was followed by Drew Steele with a jump of 19’0.5” for 10th place. Reed Donaldson took 4th place in the triple jump with a jump of 38’0.5”.

Aidan Moran took 2nd place with his throw of 136’ in the discus. He was followed by Connor Maltas in 9th place with a throw of 105’11.5”.
