The regular season ended with a flurry of activity for the Elk Point-Jefferson 16U softball team. They played 6 games in 4 days.

The Huskies hosted Dakota Valley for a double-header Thursday, July 16. EPJ struggled to score runs, dropping the 1st game 1-8 and the 2nd 8-17.

Danica Torrez was on the mound for the 1st game, going 6 innings with 5 earned runs, 7 walks and 7 strike-outs.

Nicole Wells had 2 hits for EPJ. Josie Curry had a hit and RBI. Alyssa Chytka had the team’s only other hit. The Huskies were only able to draw 2 base-on-balls. They left 6 on base.

Curry pitched the 2nd game. In her 5 innings, she gave up 15 earned runs on 9 walks. She had 5 strike-outs.
