Weather wreaked havoc with wrestling meets last week, as the team made only 1 of 3 events scheduled. Both Redfield Dec. 10 and Faulkton Dec. 11 were rescheduled or postponed by the Friday snowstorm.

The team was able to make the Flandreau Booster Club Invitational Dec. 4, the opening match of the season. Lucas Hueser-152 and Ben Swatek-170 both won their weight classes. Keaton Gale-138, Noah McDermott-195 and Hunter Sharkey-220 came in 2nd.

At the Andes Central/Dakota Christian quad, EP faced 2 powerhouses – McCook Central/Montrose and West Sioux, IA. The Huskies beat AC/DC 47-3, but lost 25-51 to MCM and 17-63 to West Sioux.

Swatek and Gavin Jacobs won both the matches they wrestled, as well as winning by forfeit over AC/DC.

Next up for the Huskies is a triangular at Vermillion Thursday, Dec. 14, then the annual Husky Invite Saturday, Dec. 16.
