Although they won the battle of the boards, the EPJ girls lost to the Viborg-Hurley Cougars 41-53 Tuesday, Dec. 21 at home.

The Huskies out-rebounded the Cougars 37-30, 11-5 on the offensive side, but Viborg-Hurley put up 19 points in the 1st quarter to build a lead they never relinquished.

Bentlee Kollbaum led the Huskies with 12 points. Josie Curry had 9 rebounds. Kaitlyn VanRoekel had 5 assists and 4 steals. The Huskies improved their free-throw percentage to 70 percent.

The girls hosted Irene-Wakonda Tuesday, Dec. 28 in a double-header with the boys, then played Thunder Basin, WY at the Sanford Pentagon Wednesday, Dec. 29. They go to Alcester-Hudson Thursday, Dec. 30.
