It was all Dakota Valley Sunday, May 8 when the Panthers stepped onto their home baseball field to take on the Centerville Tornadoes. Beau Pollema was the starting pitcher and went 5 innings to earn the win. He allowed only 3 hits and a run. Pollema struck out 8 batters.

The hitting prowess of the Panthers was the spotlight of the game as the team garnered a total of 15 hits. They scored 7 runs on 5 hits in the 1st inning alone thanks to a double by Jaxon Hennies and singles by Ethan Anema, Brendan Barnett and Ashton Pick. Dakota Valley widened their lead with 5 runs in the 2nd inning and 3 runs in the 3rd inning.

However, it was in the 4th inning that hitting took an even greater stride as the Panthers scored 10 runs to put the game out of reach for their opponent. Anema, Barnett, Pick, Tyler Schutte, Randy Rosenquist, Jackson Boonstra all recorded RBI’s in that last inning at bat.

Ethan Anema went 4-for-5 at the plate, while Barnett and Hennies each garnered 3 hits on the Panther’s path to a huge victory.
