Easton Kempf hit double-digits big time in a road game at Irene-Wakonda, scoring 20 points for the Huskies. He also had 6 boards and 6 assists.
Chace Fornia also scored 14 points in the 68-38 win.
The Huskies had a balanced defensive attack, with 7 players recording steals and 4 blocked shots.
“Another solid effort by our guys, especially on the defensive end,” head coach Jake Otkin said. “Holding a team under 40 points at any time is a great accomplishment, but our guys are really buying into that end of the floor. We also shot the ball tremendously well, shooting almost 50 percent from 3 and almost 60 percent for the game. Our game is coming full circle, but we have a lot of stuff we can work on going forward, especially with the meat of our schedule coming up through January and February. We are very proud of our guys and the things the growth they have shown and effort they are giving.”
The boys’ next action was a road trip to Canistota Tuesday, Jan. 4. They’re on the road again to Ponca Friday, Jan. 14 and Vermillion Tuesday, Jan. 18. Ponca and Vermilllion are double-headers with the girls.
