Robert Earl Ahrens, 73, of Belle Fourche, SD died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 in Rapid City.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 28 from 5-7 p.m. MT at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at Kline Funeral Chapel with interment following at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.
Robert Ahrens was born July 6, 1948 in Hawarden to George and Helen (Wynia) Ahrens. He remained in Union County until moving to Belle Fourche in 1990. He enjoyed working with his cattle and taking care of his place. He was a welder by trade for many years and he loved his work. It gave him the opportunity to travel to Washington State and Alaska to work in the oil refinery. He also enjoyed growing trees and selling them in the surrounding area.
Mr. Ahrens married Jeanette On The Tree of Belle Fourche Aug. 18, 2007.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Ame Junge (Gary) Ahrens of Omaha and Deanna Guy of Sioux City; his son, Roger Ahrens of Sioux City; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Donna (Gordon) Schoellerman of Alcester, Betty Pedersen of LeMars and Linda Rosenbaum (Dave Geary) of Elk Point; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marvin Ahrens; a brother-in-law, Ronald Pedersen; and several aunts and uncles.
