Big Sioux on the low side

At the present time, the prediction is there will not be flooding on the Big Sioux River. The river is the border line between South Dakota and Iowa from south of Sioux Falls until it enters the Missouri River at Dakota Dunes. Similar forecasts have occurred before, only to have the situation change with a period of heavy rain in the river basin. The portion of river north of the Jefferson bridge, shown above, will flood to the west when the channel is full of water.
