The biggest party in Jefferson is set to kick off next week. Jefferson Days of ’59 is a five-day event centered on downtown Jefferson July 7-11.
It begins Wednesday, July 7 with a Texas Hold ’Em Tournament at Bud’s Bar.
Thursday’s events begin at 5 p.m. in Tower Park and end with family movie night at dusk.
Friday’s happenings start at 6 p.m., all at the park, and conclude with fireworks at dusk.
The Sue Lulf Memorial run starts the day Saturday at 8 a.m., along with a co-ed slow pitch softball tournament. St. Peter’s Knights of Columbus will be serving up breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Events will continue throughout the day, with a craft and vendor fair, a cornhole tournament and lots of kids events.
The co-ed softball tournament continues Sunday, along with a car show and horseshoe tournament. Jefferson Fire and Rescue will serve up a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
