After a meeting with 4-H team leaders, the Leaders Association voted to not hold any 4-H events at the Union County Fair this year. 4-H Program Assistant and Union County Fair Manager Janet Lingle informed the Union County Board of County Commissioners Tuesday, June 16 of this update.
“That changes things a little bit,” Lingle said. “Plus, I’ve been getting a lot of the vendors, event planners and entertainment call and cancel. So basically, we’ve had a lot of things get cancelled. So right now, we’re kind of between a rock and a hard place.”
Lingle said she brought along 4-H Youth Program Advisor Lauren Hollenbeck because there were some guidelines where holding 4-H events would have been possible, but the leaders chose otherwise due to too many restrictions.
