After a 20-minute executive session the North Sioux City City Council reconvened and approved the hiring of Eric Christensen as City Administrator and a contract with CFO Next to help with accounting work. (See next week’s paper for more information on Christensen).
The council heard from North Sioux City Community Library Director Liane Welte on limited measures for reopening the library. The council approved opening the library to curbside distribution on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (See page 14 for more information).
During council input, council member Lonnie Green asked what was being done about Jeff Rabbitt’s property. Ethan Joy of JEO Engineering said that due to the rain the work had been put on hold, but is still scheduled. Council member Dan Parks asked about the sidewalk progress along Streeter Drive. Public Works Superintendent Rusty Montagne said he would call the contractor in the morning and see how much longer the sidewalk would be closed. Council member Tena Carpenter asked how the compliance was going among the casinos that had reopened.
