Book drop bins

When people pull a book off the shelf, they are asked not to put it back, but to place it in one of the bins located throughout the library. This is so library staff can sanitize the book before placing it back on the shelf.

Checking out a book isn’t going to be like before when you walked in, roamed the aisles while running your fingers over the titles trying to find just the right book. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, new standards of conduct are in place at the North Sioux City Community Library for when they reopen to the public June 25. Hours are Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The plan is to continue those hours through Aug. 28 and return to normal hours Aug. 31.

People returning books will do so outside. The books are not to be brought into the library.

Upon entering the library, a mask must be worn and temperatures taken. Depending on how many people are in the library (as they’re limiting patronage), people may have to wait outside.
