The Elk Point City Council held a special meeting Monday, Nov. 9 with just two items on the agenda.
First was to review revised bids for the swimming pool project. At their meeting last week, council members decided to ask the three companies which had returned bids to provide more information, particularly the Greatest Maximum Price (GMP). Two of the three responded – Carrothers Construction Company of Paola, KS, presented a GMP of $1.5543 million; Christiansen Construction Co. of Pender, NE, presented $1.5 million.
The council accepted the low bid from Christiansen.
The second agenda item was Resolution No. 2020-10, Discretionary Formula SDCL 10-6-35.2. It allows the city to continue offering property tax rebates on new homes contructed in the city.
The next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 at city hall.
