The Jefferson City Council discussed placing load limits on W. Dakota Street during its regular meeting March 2.
Some council members think trucks coming down I-29 from the north are bypassing the weigh station by cutting across to County Rd 1B and then using W. Dakota to get back on the interstate. Union County has seven-ton load limits on its roads until the frost is out of the ground. However, considering the time frame to advertise and pass a city load limit, the council decided it had to wait until next year.
