Fore the Cure will hold its annual golf outing and fundraiser Friday, June 19 at The Pointe Golf & Event Center.

The two-person scramble format will have shotgun starts at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The day concludes with a dinner, online silent auction and outdoor music by Eric Tompkins.

The event raises money for local scholarships, cancer research and support of a local recipient, Caitlin Rosenbaum this year.

Rosenbaum is currently battling metastatic vaginal cancer, an extremely rare type. She was first diagnosed in October of 2019. She underwent six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation in Sioux Falls and internal radiation in Omaha. Her original cancer has shrunk dramatically, but tumors have been found in other parts of her body. She is starting a new round of more intense chemotherapy in Omaha.

“I will never be cured,” Rosenbaum said.

The best she can hope for is to stall the cancer’s growth.
