The Jefferson City Council met Monday, July 6 at the Jefferson Community Center and looked at progress, and lack thereof, on cleaning up properties in the city.
Police Chief Randy Crum said he met with City Building Inspector Gary Roan about two properties – 509 Division Street and 503 Main Street. Roan said the Division property just needs some repairs, but the Main property should be red-tagged. It’s missing roof sheeting, shingles and a basement door and trees are growing out of the foundation. The council discussed demolition costs and asked City Attorney Sabrina LaFleur-Sayler to look into the matter.
