DV Panthers play aggressively against EPJ Huskies

Elk Point-Jefferson was in town on Thursday, Feb. 1 to face the Panther girls basketball team. Dakota Valley led 11- 4 with under 2 minutes to play in the 1st quarter. Drives to the hoop and staying quick on offense had the Panthers in control early.

Five EPJ grapplers place at Wagner Invite

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies travelled to Wagner on Jan. 27 to participate in the Wagner Invite against 15 other teams. Five Huskies found themselves with podium finishes at the invite – Luke Swatek (126), Owen Rigg (132), Caleb Heuertz (175), Keaton Hinds (215) and Ruben Chicoine (285).

Wingert scores 1,000th career points

Senior Jaxson Wingert achieved 1,000 career points for DV high school basketball on Thursday, Jan. 25. The milestone came in the Panther’s away game versus Sioux Falls Christian. Play was stopped by the officials and scorer’s table in order to acknowledge the achievement. Those in attendance clapped and cheered for Wingert who is a leader on the boys’ basketball team.

Dakota Valley Panthers win 1, lose 1 on the road

The Panther girls basketball team faced off against the Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian on Thursday, Jan. 25. Dakota Valley scored first with a behind the arc shot from Ella Otten. The Chargers applied a full court press right away, but DV handled it well and earned some quick hoops. The score would be tied at 13 at the end of the 1st.

DV Esports in top rankings across state

The Panther Esports program competed in their 6th week of the season and saw many victories. Currently DV is ranked high in the state across a multitude of games.
