Holy Cross makes sizeable donation

Randy Stein pulled up to the doors of North Sioux City City Hall with a pickup bed full of food and a cab full of kindness. The Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church held an in-house month-long food drive sponsored by the Women in Mission and Evangelicalism group. Every year the Women in Mission try to do two fundraisers to give back to the community. When they heard about the ROCS Union County Food Pantry, they decided to hold a month-long food drive. The food was divided between the Siouxland Food Bank and the Union County Food Pantry. Thrivent funds were also utilized to help purchase donations. On Friday, Oct. 8, Randy Stein, Doug Jansen and Deb Stein (in middle) dropped off 11 full boxes of food to the pantry. Helping with the pantry were (far left) Dave Fuehrer and (far right) Nancy Fuehrer. Kim Garcia was also present. Other donations (monetary or food) have been received by Skyline, Thrivent, Clark’s, Fareway (Riverside) and Goode to Go.
