Every year students, teachers, administrators and staff in the Dakota Valley Elementary building line the halls as the third graders walk the halls one last time. This year, due to COVID-19 pandemic and schools being closed, staff thought of a creative way to still celebrate the third grade moving on to the middle school building next year for fourth grade – a clap-out parade held May 21. The parade was held in the elementary school parking lot lined with staff members and signs.

As families of third graders drove by, staff cheered and waved their signs. Some children also had signs to share with their teachers, telling them how much they missed them.

The parade continued over into the middle school parking lot where three fourth grade teachers waited to welcome the incoming fourth grade class.
