Courtney Chrystal of Dakota Dunes has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2019-20 academic year. The list recognizes full-time students who have a minimum of 12 credit hours with GPA at 3.5 or above.

South Dakota School of Mines & Technology

For the fall 2019 semester, 616 students were named to the Dean’s List.

In order to merit a spot on the Dean’s List, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Full-time students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours for the term, while part-time students must have earned between three and 11 credit hours that term.

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota

John Paul Keane, son of Julie Keane and Kevin Keane, Dakota Dunes, was named to the first semester, 2019 Dean’s List at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. The list includes 355 undergraduate students who earned a GPA of 3.60 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Northwestern College

Nicole Koertner* and Rachel Koertner* have earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the fall 2019 semester.

The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have achieved a semester GPA of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. This semester, 428 students qualified for the Dean’s List. Students who earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher are considered Collegiate Scholars, designated with an asterisk.

Nicole Koertner is a senior elementary education major at Northwestern College. Rachel Koertner is a senior public relations major at Northwestern. They are the daughters of Terry and Susan Koertner of Jefferson.

College of Saint Mary

The first-ever Occupational Therapy White Coat Ceremony was held Jan. 19. The event recognized occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) students who will begin the clinical care portion of the curriculum by presenting them with their white coats. Amber Schubert of Dakota Dunes was among the students presented.

“I want to congratulate each of my classmates for making it through the first semester of our doctoral program. It is such an exciting milestone,” said Schubert in her speech. “This white coat is a symbol of our hard work, a representation of our success and a chance to show others that we can [be occupational therapists]. Our white coats also show that we are capable of pursuing a dream and making that dream become a reality.”

The following students have been named to the dean’s list for academic excellence after the fall 2019 semester. To earn dean’s list distinctions in SDSU’s colleges, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA. Students with an asterisk received a perfect 4.0 GPA.
