Hello from the North Sioux City Community Library. We are excited the library doors are open and books are being circulated. We want to assure people we have a solid quarantine procedure and restrictions are in place for use inside the library. We still offer curbside pickup for those not ready to come inside.

Book companies are back to regular delivery schedules which means new books are being added. We have seen a quick depletion of inventory in this section. This confirms reading is still a favored pastime.

Beginning readers through the most seasoned will notice additions to their favorite genres.

Our younger readers will see the latest books added to the Dragon Masters, Heide Heckelbeck and Mermaid Tales series. We have added a fun new series titled Henry Heckelbeck.

We have added the 2019-20 South Dakota Book Award Winners determined by vote from youth across the state. This includes three different categories and age groups ranging from Pre-K through 5th grade. They are each labeled with an award sticker in their category for easy identification.

Young adults will enjoy If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin as well as My Long List of Impossible Things by Michelle Barker and Deathless Divide by Justina Ireland, to name a few.

Adult readers will find many of the New York Times Best Sellers on our shelves. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens still ranks in the top 10. We have three copies of this book to keep up with demand. If it Bleeds by Stephen King, Fair Warning by Michael Connelly, 28 Summers by Elin Hildebrand, Memoirs and Misinformation by Jim Carrey and Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner are all NYT Best Sellers and available for check out at the library.

Science fiction fans can read the newest Mercedes Lackey book titled Spy, Spy Again and a few new westerns by author William Johnstone have been added.

We continue to add books regularly and are looking forward to helping you find what you need. Our hours are currently Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Watch our Facebook page for future changes to this schedule.
