It’s been a very busy and unique week for Jefferson Conoco. The small town gas station has had two separate events leading to two arrests in the last week.

The first incident occurred July 30 at 8:19 p.m. when the Union County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 9-1-1 call about a dog bite at the gas station.

A woman had pulled up to the pumps and a pickup next to her had a dog in the back of the bed. She called 9-1-1 saying the dog had bit her right hand.

Upon talking to Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges it wasn’t clear if she had tried to pet the dog or just got too close to the pickup.

Upon arriving, Deputy Lisa Schenzel, had suspicion that the woman had been drinking due to her demeanor. A field sobriety test was conducted, video surveillance footage reviewed and the woman was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
