Stony Point

Forty-two condo units are being built on the southwest side of Lake Kampeska. Submitted rendering

For years, Stony Point was a focal point on the southwest side of Lake Kampeska, north of Watertown. It was well-known to many people in northeast South Dakota.

In its day, it had a roller rink and ferris wheel. One could also ride on the “Stella Mae” and tour Lake Kampeska.

Watertown-based Crestone Builder is developing a project with condominiums, a marina and boardwalk. Construction started last week. There will be 42 condo units with covered and heated parking, a pool and fitness center.

The condos will be sold between $300-400,000, unfinished. The buyer will be able to do the interior design.

The estimated completion date is late February, 2022.
