Due to COVID-19, National Night Out (NNO) has been officially moved to a later date.

NNO, recognized across the nation, is normally the first Tuesday night in August. North Sioux City is following the recommendation and moving their event to the first Tuesday in October.

On Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m., the North Sioux City Police, Fire and Ambulance departments will be in front of the Dakota Valley Elementary School serving food and beverages. Some changes will be observed. All those serving food will be masked and gloved. Cans of pop and bottles of water will be available for drinks. In the past, fountain pop was available. To cut down on the passing of germs, cans will be used this year. No waterslides or bouncy houses will be available for children this year.

National Night Out is meant to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Come out and show support of improving community and community service members relations by enjoying a free meal and good company.
