DV Art Club paints city barricades

The Dakota Valley Art Club was presented with a service project by North Sioux City City Administrator Eric Christensen – paint the city’s barricades. The club agreed and the city moved the barricades to the school parking lot for safety reasons.

City has brief update on proposed canal project

The North Sioux City City Council started their Oct. 3 meeting with a 15-minute executive session and reconvened without a motion. Unlike the last few meetings that had standing room only, there were only a couple of people in attendance.

Cross Country season winding down

On a pleasant but incredibly windy day, the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies Cross Country traveled to Lennox for the Cross Country Invitational. This highly competitive meet includes powerhouse teams from South Dakota, and provides a ‘next level’ competition for Elk Point. Labor Department offers funding for youth apprenticeship programs

The Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) is offering $142,000 in funding for new high school Registered Apprenticeship programs. Four contracts up to $35,500 each will be awarded through the “Pathway Partnership Initiative.”

Union County Extension presents Junior Master Gardener program

An exciting adventure waits for you and young gardeners in the Junior Master Gardener Program (JMG). For kids ages 9-13, this program has 12 classes beginning Jan. 22, 2023.
