Eva J. Heck, 79, of McCook Lake, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Cremation rites followed the service.

Eva Jean Pranschke was born Feb. 24, 1939, with a twin sister, Edna, to Paul and Alice Pranschke in Salix, IA. The family resided there for a couple of years, and then moved to Westfield. She grew up on a farm, where she shared her dad’s love of animals and attended high school in Jefferson.

She married David Jorgensen. Later, she married Rodger Heck June 27, 1964. Over the next 24 years, the Heck family called Jefferson their home.

Throughout her life Mrs. Heck held various jobs – at JC Penney, Valley Bank, Country Inn & Suites and Casey’s.

She loved crafting and crocheting and spending time with family. She considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising three strong daughters.

She is survived by five daughters, Marlene (Tom) Peters, Donna (Dennis) Golden, Crystal Jorgensen, Janet (Bill) Dennison and Pamella (Alan) Stokely; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Heck was preceded in death by her twin sister and her husband.
