Sylvia E. Rosenbaum, 96, of Elk Point, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 with her family by her side at Prairie Estates in Elk Point.

Services were held Monday, Nov. 25 at Elk Point Baptist Church. Pastor David Bambas officiated. She was buried in Civil Bend Cemetery.

Sylvia Elizabeth Hummel was born Feb. 7, 1923 to Thomas M. and Goldie Hummel in Westfield. She married Robert Rosenbaum Sept. 20, 1946 in Sioux City.

She loved getting together with her family and having fish fries at the river. She hunted and fished with her husband and sons. She loved dancing, crocheting, cooking and playing cards. Sylvia was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and V.F.W. and served on the Elk Point LEE committee. She was a longtime member of Elk Point United Parish.

She is survived by her two sons, Rodney (Shirley) Rosenbaum and Terry (Sue) Rosenbaum; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Paul and Roy; five brothers, Earl, Lynn, Floyd, Gordon and Thomas; two sisters, Mary Jane Rosenbaum and Verda Klapprodt; one grandson, Scott; and one great-grandson, Gage.

Kober Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
