Grace M. Port-Hagedorn, 84, of Grinnell, IA, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018.

Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 29 at Cathedral of the Epiphany – St. Boniface Worship Site. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.

Grace Montagne was born June 27, 1934 to Ralph and Lilia (Chartier) Montagne in Sioux City. She grew up on the family farm west of Jefferson. She graduated from Bishop Heelan in 1952. She married (Orval) Jim Port May 21, 1955 in Jefferson.

Mrs. Port spent many years as an in-home daycare provider to countless children. She also hosted many foster children.

On Oct. 30, 1999, she married Joseph Hagedorn of Scribner, NE. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Mended Hearts Association.

Mrs. Hagedorn was preceded in death by a son, her two husbands, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

She is survived by four sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren, two foster daughters, a foster son, seven foster grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and a brother, Oliver (Mary) Montagne.
