County purchases emergency response boat

In a collaborative effort between the Union County Emergency Management and Sheriff’s Departments, a response boat has been purchased. The boat was budgeted for out of the Emergency Management budget.

Emergency Manager Andy Minihan said that with drownings the last few years, the county decided it was a necessity. By having their own boat, the county can respond faster instead of relying on other agencies.
