Healthcare costs hurt economy

Tim Bjorkman wants to lower the cost of healthcare. If he’s elected to the U.S. House of Representatives next week, it’s the first thing he’ll work on when he gets to Washington, D.C.

In an interview with the Leader-Courier Oct. 25, the Democratic candidate said healthcare in this country costs at least twice as much as other, comparable countries. It’s a huge trade problem for companies like Alkota and Aaladin, who have to build those costs into their products. That makes countries like Germany, Japan and Italy more competitive internationally, especially in steel. Bjorkman quoted Warren Buffet’s description of high healthcare costs.
